"It all started as a joke!
So my father, the legendary Belt Designer Al Beres alias "Big Al" brought
my brother Drenton, sister Trigere and I into the business to help market
and sell his luxury Belt Collection Big Al by Al Beres. The most beautiful
Sterling Silver and 18kt Gold Belt Buckles made in the USA on Genuine
Leathers and real Alligator!
The pieces were adorned by Celebrities everywhere!
The only problem was Big Al always liked to promote the celebs of
yesteryear and previous generations that had worn his belts even when he
had numerous modern day celebrities rockin his stuff... including Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Magic Johnson, the Gretzky's, and Tom Cruise
to name a few... but if you know Big Al he can't be phased... all he
wanted to talk about was the likes of Ricky Nelson, Jimi Hendrix, Malcolm
Forbes and others from the past...or as us siblings referred to them:
Washed Up!!
"Dad, half of these folks are dead," I told him.
The joke became a name, Washed Up Hollywood, and we quickly realized the
need to create belts of the utmost quality like the Big Al collection but
at price points attainable to people our age. Our friends all wanted to
rock the same style belts!
So that brings us to today. The Washed Up Hollywood concept with over 30
years of expertise behind it has quickly become a great sensation in just
18 months. Currently you can find Washed Up Hollywood in over 250 US
stores and in 12 other countries. As natives of Huntington Beach, CA we
have kept our business close to home and continue to take pride in
